Since busting onto the scene last summer, Super Art Fight has become a proud underground Baltimore tradition. Last Friday at Metro Gallery, they held their fifth championship bout.

The offshoot of anime conventions and webcomic artists, SAF is best described as the unholy matrimony of webcomics, “Iron Chef,” “Street Fighter,” pro wrestling and the deranged minds of its founders. Artists fight (get it?) on a canvas to whatever themes dictated by the fan-fed “Wheel of Death.” The Metro Gallery show was their first to be 21+ only, so this time they took the training wheels off and put the really sick stuff on.

These guys are good friends of mine and it was a pleasure to attend the show. If BaltiNerd had existed last weekend, I would have gotten video. But in any case, check out the gallery (some NSFW stuff in there). Advance apologies for the photos being very red… welcome to Metro Gallery. Yeah.
